Isn't she lovely??

SPORT: FOOTBALL
ROLE: FOOTBALLER
NATIONALITY: NIGERIAN

Ngozi Sonia Okobi was born on the 14th of December 1993 in Warri, Delta State to Mr and Mrs Okobi Nwachukwu and is the fifth of six children; taking her athletic chops from her mum who was a sprinter at state level.

She is an attacking Midfielder popularly known for her exploits for the Super Falcons at the just concluded FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada.

She had a hand in all three of Nigeria's goals in the tournament, scoring one goal and making two assists. She insists she best thrives in a 4-4-2 formation.

The 5 ft 5 forward who recently signed for US-Based team, Washington Spirit from Delta Queens (for an undisclosed fee), faced a lot of opposition in her quest to become a footballer.

Having finished Secondary School in 2008, she was forced by her father who she stated regularly flogged her, to get admission to study Microbiology in the University.

Her breakthrough came soon after when she went on represent the country at the U-17 level in the same year.

She got her first senior call up in 2010.

Ngozi has scored three international goals and states her finest achievement was winning the FIFA ''Live Your Goals'' Player-of-the-Match award in her debut World Cup game against Sweden on June 8th, 2015.

On her first World Cup experience, she recounts her ordeal to ChiquaDiva exclusively at playing and training on the AstroTurf which true to criticism, affected her ability to play better, specifically leaving her with ''knee shocks'', needing constant therapy.

The 22-year-old Ngozi who harbors hopes to become a Model and further her studies says her ultimate hobby is singing (especially Igbo songs) and is regularly spotted in her church choir.

She is currently in a relationship and plans to settle down with her long-time partner, in her words, '' sometime next year''.
