The Coach of
Super Falcons Edwin Okon in Canada, made his final cut of 23 players who will
represent the West African Nation in Canada. The reigning African champions who
were the second team to arrive Canada ahead of the mundial in June were made up
of 26 players and it was stated that three will be dropped from the provisional
list.
Those three
include Goalkeeper Sandra ChiiChi, Defender Mariam Ibrahim and 2012 FIFA U-17 World Cup top scorer, Chiwendu
Ihezuo.
On the flip
side, current BBC Women's Footballer of the Year and Liverpool Ladies forward
Asisat Oshoala made the list alongside FIFA U20 fastest goal scorer, Courtney
Dike as well as the top Scorer at the 2014 African Women Championship, Desire
Oparanozie.

Other notable inclusions include Washington Spirit's Francesca,
veteran goalkeeper Precious Dede and Kazakhstan-based captain, Evelyn Nwabuoku.
Nigeria will
face Sweden, Australia and the USA in Group D at the 7th FIFA
Women’s World Cup, with their first match against Sweden in Winnipeg on Monday,
8th June.
